Raqueliformis Linearis
The term "Raqueliformis Linearis" is a fusion of the creator's name, Raquel, with "formis," indicating shape or form, and "linearis," highlighting the linear nature of the technique. It denotes a structured, line-centric art style that is emblematic of Raquel's artistic approach.
Following the PURA exhibition from 2019, Raquel takes a step further in showcasing her modular design. In this exhibition, these modular designs are aligned, analysed closer as the anatomy of an abstraction. A closer look into Raquel’s visually modular system to take over the space in a composition, one line at a time.
Raqueliformis Linearis is a series of abstract drawings made out of white ink over dark blue, all 25 x 9.5 inches. Each drawing has a different composition and line work, which is organised in four categories. The first category of drawings are delicate and highly intricate, detailed line work. A second category is highly dynamic and full of movement, the linework is bold but thin enough to embody movement and welcoming balanced space across the composition. Some pieces occupy the entire composition with big, bold lines in the third category allowing additional angles and texture in every line. The fourth category is a bold, one line dictating the space.
