PURA
"An archaeologist explores with their hands, seeking profound meaning. Discoveries are refined to unveil their utmost integrity, meticulously analyzed and interpreted. Only then are they unveiled to the public in their purest form." - Raquel Silva Gorbea, 2019.
This exhibition showcases a selection of works that illuminate the evolution of a drawing technique. These abstract pieces delve into the essence of design expression.
It's akin to unearthing a new, undiscovered artifact, revealing its true nature to the public for the very first time, devoid of alterations or misinterpretations, presented in its unadulterated state. This is Raquel's vision in her PURA exhibition.
Raquel unveils an authentic drawing technique, deeply personal and original. The abstract nature of this technique is laid bare, entirely exposed and raw, without compromising the integrity of its creation or inadvertently appropriating it. In 2014, Raquel discovered a drawing method through which she could imbue each design with an autonomous and distinctive identity, imbuing each with its own significance.
With her hands as her guide, Raquel delves into revealing the identity and meanings within each design. She hones and refines unique elements within them, analyzing and interpreting them individually. This exhibition is the culmination of her quest, where she shares her discoveries with the public in their purest form.
